Stuart Hayward-Higham appointed to PackUK's E&E TAC Group

PackUK has announced that Stuart Hayward-Higham will join its Efficiency and Effectiveness Technical Advisory Committee (E&E TAC), one of the groups tasked with ensuring optimal packaging Extended Producer Responsibility (pEPR) outcomes for local authorities across the UK.

Stuart is Chief Technical Development and Innovation Officer for SUEZ recycling and recovery UK and a member of the board of Trustees for RECOUP. He also sat on DEFRA’s Advisory Committee on Packaging (ACP) for many years and is a current member of the Defra Circular Economy Taskforce where his extensive technical and sector experience is part of a multi-industry, Government-backed drive to deliver a more sustainable, less resource-hungry economy.

"I am delighted to be accepted to join PackUK's Efficiency and Effectiveness Technical Advisory Committee,” said Stuart

“This appointment provides a fantastic opportunity to help move the UK into a new era of packaging and system design to deliver more circular outcomes”

“In my current role, with 30+ years of experience and through my participation in a number of other advisory and delivery groups over those years, I have gained a deep understanding of the waste management landscape. My experience gives me a comprehensive view of the challenges and opportunities facing local authorities and I hope this practical and detailed knowledge will add value in helping the E&E TAC and PackUK deliver on their objectives.

“I look forward to collaborating with my fellow committee members and the PackUK team to help shape a more sustainable and successful future for packaging in the UK."
