SUEZ supports launch of new youth hub in Blackburn

SUEZ recycling and recovery UK has lent its support to Blackburn Youth Zone ahead of the grand opening of their new state of the art centre for young people.

SUEZ team members joined other local business volunteers on-site to assist with painting and decorating tasks, ensuring the facility was ready to welcome visitors.

Victoria Crabtree, Regional Manager, said: "As a long-standing patron of Blackburn Youth Zone, we are incredibly proud to help out with the new hub. It's a privilege to contribute to a project that will provide a safe, inclusive, and inspiring space for young people to learn, grow, and stay active."

The refurbished youth centre will offer a wide range of facilities, including sports halls, dance studios, climbing walls, game rooms, a boxing ring and a large canteen—designed to support the physical, social and emotional development of young people in the borough.

Tamara Hitchen from Blackburn & Darwen Youth Zone said: "We’re very grateful for the hands-on support from SUEZ and other local partners. Their efforts have helped us get over the finish line in time for our launch, and we’re excited to open the doors to what we know will be a valuable asset for the community."

SUEZ employees are encouraged to volunteer one day each year as part of the company’s commitment to supporting the communities they serve.
