SUEZ and Avanti West Coast mark World Earth Day with network‑wide litter picks
Avanti West Coast operates trains along the West Coast Main Line, serving 16 stations across the UK. Last week, 11 of those stations hosted a local litter pick reinforcing both SUEZ and Avanti’s commitment to environmental responsibility and community engagement.
In addition, waste segregation stations, in place at six Avanti sites helped to ensure collected litter is sorted correctly and recycled wherever possible.
Members of the SUEZ waste segregation team Liam Greenwood, Jamie Wilcock and Site Manager John Daniel worked alongside Avanti employees to support several of the litter picks across the rail network.
Chris Eldergill, Senior Key Account Manager at SUEZ who helped at Stafford station, said: "This really demonstrates how good collaborations between customer and contractor can have a real impact, this World Earth Day initiative highlights the shared commitment of SUEZ and Avanti to protecting the environment, improving station environments for passengers, and working together to make a positive impact across the rail network."
Wendy Morris, Supplier Manager for Avanti who invited SUEZ to participate in the event, said: “It was wonderful to meet up with Chris and John at Stafford to take part in the litter pick. It’s great that we can rely on SUEZ to collaborate with us on events like this and show what working together can achieve collectively.”
