SUEZ to drive innovative improvements in new recycling and waste contract with Sky
- Sky appoints SUEZ in the UK to deliver its general waste, recycling and confidential waste services at over 50 locations nationwide, including flagship locations in Osterley and Livingston.
- Plans include a commitment to deliver innovative projects annually with SUEZ’s transformation team which will support Sky’s sustainability ambitions.
SUEZ began a new three-year contract on 01 August 2026, delivering waste services for Sky’s estate locations across the country, including their headquarters, contact centres, and their Scottish locations in partnership with Enva Scotland.
The partnership builds on an existing successful contract with Sky Studios Elstree delivered by SUEZ subsidiary Cawleys.
SUEZ will work with Sky to help it achieve its recycling and waste reduction goals, including sending zero waste to landfill. The new contract aims to drive recycling rates to over 60%, alongside an overall 20% reduction in annual waste volumes, building on the progress to remove single use plastics from on-site operations.
The improved reporting offered by SUEZ will give Sky the insight to drive increased recycling volumes, reducing its impact on nature and supporting its wider sustainability strategy. SUEZ will produce waste compositional and volume analysis to support innovation projects such as on-site sorting of mixed recyclables for baling and identifying closed loop and re-use opportunities.
George Pearce, Head of Corporate Sales for SUEZ, said: “We’re delighted to be appointed to deliver Sky’s waste services for more than 50 locations nationwide. I’m confident that we will bring our expertise to drive innovation and improvements in recycling and I look forward to working in partnership to support Sky’s goal of zero waste to landfill and greater resource efficiency.”
Diana Foxlee, Director of Spaces at Sky, said: “At Sky, we’re committed to finding smarter ways to reduce our environmental impact across our workplaces and operations. This partnership with SUEZ brings together innovation, insight and expertise to help us accelerate progress towards our recycling and waste reduction goals. Together, we’ll explore new opportunities to make better use of resources, reuse more materials and develop innovative solutions that support our sustainability strategy. We’re excited to work with a partner that shares our ambition to deliver meaningful environmental improvements and lasting benefits across our estate.”
