SUEZ Chief External Affairs and Sustainability Officer announced as new Chair of the CIWM Board of Trustees

CIWM, the professional body and membership organisation for the waste, resources and sustainability management sector in the UK, announced Dr Adam Read MBE as the new Chair of its Board of Trustees as of 21st October 2026.

CIWM’s Trustees are selected by skill set and are at the head of the CIWM’s governance structure, overseeing the strategic direction of the body and supporting the institute’s purpose to move the world beyond waste.

With more than 30 years experience in the sector as both an academic and in strategic operations, Adam previously served as President of CIWM and as a Trustee since 2023. He will continue to champion green skills in his new role as Chair, as the sector continues on a path of rapid change with the introduction of systems like DRS and a move towards the increased circularity of materials.

Chief External Affairs and Sustainability Officer for SUEZ in the UK, Dr Adam Read MBE, said: "It is an honour to step into the role of Chair of the Board of Trustees. CIWM plays a crucial role in supporting our sector through rapid change, and I am excited to work with the Board and our members as we continue to champion green skills and deliver our purpose to move the world beyond waste."
