SUEZ achieves EcoVadis Gold Medal

We are thrilled to have received our first ever Gold Medal rating by EcoVadis - the world’s largest and most trusted provider of business sustainability ratings.

EcoVadis, who assess a global network of more than 100,000+ rated companies, scored us 72 out of 100, putting us in the top 3% of companies rated in the sector and in the top 1% of all companies for our Environment score.

As a result, we have been awarded a prestigious 2023 EcoVadis Gold Medal in recognition of our advanced performance and sustainability achievements.

The EcoVadis assessment process looks at companies' policies and actions, as well as their published reporting, related to 21 issues across four key themes:

  • Environment
  • Labour and human rights
  • Ethics
  • Sustainable procurement

Thanks to our triple bottom line focus on people, planet, profit, we were able to achieve positive results in all of these categories.

Leigh Broadhurst, Environment and Sustainable Development Lead commented: “Our rating is a clear example of our commitment to sustainable business practices and our triple bottom line approach, people, planet, profit. Protecting the environment is at the heart of what we do as a business and environmental responsibility is embedded in our business model and strategy as we sustain the value of resources, conserve natural capital and enable the circular economy.

“In all our services, we strive to go above and beyond by surpassing environmental standards wherever we operate, reducing our resource use and decarbonising our activities. We’re delighted to be recognised for our achievements in this area and look forward to further opportunities to enhance our sustainability performance.”

As part of the Gold Medal award, we have also received recommendations from Ecovadis on how to improve our sustainability performance and we are currently reviewing these new opportunities.
