SUEZ announced as Blackburn 10k headline sponsor

SUEZ recycling and recovery UK (SUEZ) has been announced as the headline sponsor for this year’s Blackburn 10K.

The 10K is organised by and raises funds for the Blackburn Rovers FC Community Trust. It is taking place for only the second time and will see over a thousand runners take part on Sunday 12 December. The run starts and finishes inside Blackburn Rovers’ Ewood Park Stadium and promises to be a fun-filled family event with food, drink and entertainment. SUEZ manages waste and recyclable material from households and businesses right across the UK.

SUEZ processes household waste on behalf of Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council’s 150,000 residents, recycling over 8000 tonnes of material each year.

Ed Best, SUEZ’s Regional Manager, said: "We have a long and proud history of working in Blackburn with Darwen and right across Lancashire, so we are delighted to be the headline sponsor for this year’s Blackburn 10K. The SUEZ team are really excited for the event - we will be there on the day helping to marshal and some of our team are even taking part in the run itself!"

Deborah Blades, Community & Income Development Manager at Blackburn Rovers Community Trust said: "We are thrilled to announce SUEZ as our headline sponsor for this year’s 10K. The event promises to be a great success and will raise much needed funds for Blackburn Rovers Community Trust to support the community work we deliver to over 50,000 residents of Blackburn with Darwen every year. We are excited at the prospect of working with a company that shares the same social values as our own and works hard to make sustainable social change."
