Devon volunteers rally round local football club
Local football club, Central FC is due to benefit from SUEZ recycling and recovery UK reuse initiatives and employee volunteer days.
Co-ordinated by Anthony Beveridge, Contract Supervisor for SUEZ and committee member for Central Football club based in Exeter, this summer he hopes to see a real transformation of the club house using paints donated by Community RePaint in Devon and volunteers from SUEZ.
Community RePaint is a UK-wide initiative that supports paint reuse by collecting leftover, usable paint from households and making it available, free of charge, for others in the community to collect and use. The scheme is available in Devon and further information can be found here.
The current club house building is in need of a makeover and a lick of paint will make a real difference. This July the club are organising weekends throughout the month where volunteers can come along with a paint brush or roller and get involved in transforming the tired club house into something fresh and vibrant ready to welcome children for the new season.
Anthony said ‘ It’s a club that has an ethos of allowing as many children as possible to be active and do something they really enjoy. I feel really proud that the company I work for support local community projects like this. It will make such a difference to over 400 children that are visit here every year.’
