SUEZ Surrey supports Shepperton Fair with a focus on energy generation and reuse
Visitors to the SUEZ stall learned about how the Eco Park team works on behalf of Surrey County Council to generate electricity from food and non-recyclable waste, in addition to how the county’s Revive reuse shops give unwanted items a second life – diverting them away from landfill.
The stall included a raffle featuring refurbished bikes as prizes for the lucky winners, restored through our partnership with HMP Ford. All funds raised went to our corporate charity partners: Macmillan Cancer Support and the British Heart Foundation.
In true community spirit, the team also jumped into the day’s more adventurous activities by taking part in the raft race – not with the most success, but certainly with plenty of enthusiasm and good humour.
Regional Manager, Gareth Swain, said: “We were delighted to be a platinum sponsor of the Shepperton Fair, which is a real highlight in the calendar for many of our SUEZ Surrey team. It was great to speak with residents about the wide range of work we do – from energy generation and reuse to the social value initiatives we’re delivering across the county – whilst our participation in the raft race resulted in lots of fun for team and spectators alike".
We look forward to continuing the tradition and returning to the fair again soon.
