Coastal clean-up benefits from collaboration

This September SUEZ recycling and recovery UK and Hamble Aerostructures, joined forces to support the local environment and promote sustainability with a litter pick along the Southampton coastline.

Despite blustery conditions, a team of 11 volunteers rolled up their sleeves and collected an impressive 18 kilogrammes of waste along the Southampton water way by Hamble, helping to preserve the beautiful coastal environment.

‘It was great to be a part of the SUEZ Beach Clean event on the Hamble shoreline and see SUEZ continuing to lead the way in promoting Sustainable and Environmental events with its partners’ said Stephanie Davis from Hamble Aerostructures.

As part of SUEZ’s commitment to improving biodiversity at their local sites and supporting community engagement, last year they organised 207 beach cleans and litter picks across the UK.

Lee Hockaday, Site Manager for SUEZ said ‘I’m proud of the commitment SUEZ has for the environment, and working closely with our customers to inspire colleagues and local communities to look after nature is a great way to spend a volunteering day.’
