Sustainable solutions for students

SUEZ recycling and recovery UK were delighted to support the University of West of England Bristol in welcoming students to their Campus. As part of a welcome event held by the university’s Sustainability Team students were able to find out all about how to save money, prevent reuseable items from going to waste, and boost recycling rates.

Working collaboratively with Kat Corbett and Jade Shih, who share the role of Interim Head of Circular Economy, Joe Pusey, Partnership and Social Value Manager and Sam Oakley, Key Account Manager for SUEZ helped to run a recycling challenge for students where they learnt how to recycle correctly and ensure everything recyclable could be reused or the materials processed to make something new.

‘Seeing so many students engaged in the activities at the Circular Economy Fair was inspiring. It was a real pleasure to be able to showcase and talk about reuse, repair, and other initiatives that provide a more sustainable solution to our waste.’ said Sam Oakley from SUEZ.

Kat Corbett from UWE said ‘We’re delighted with the feedback we’ve received from the students so far, the team from SUEZ helped to inform our new students all about being more sustainable and the positive impact reuse and recycling has not only on the planet, but also on local communities.’
