Solar powered fun at Seghill gala
The event, now in its 104th year, is a loved community celebration and well attended by families, community volunteers and their representatives.
This year, alongside providing sponsorship, the team hosted a stall so that members of the public could hear more about the nature trail and have the chance to discuss prospective plans to install solar panels on the restored landfill site.
Residents could also take part in some games to be in with the chance to win some solar powered robotic games with the money raised for SUEZ corporate charity partners Macmillan and British Heart Foundation as a result.
Victoria Pritchard, SUEZ Regional Manager said: “We’re really proud to be part of this community and to be able to offer something back through our support with events like this. All of the team had a great time and it was brilliant to raise money for such important charities at the same time.”
Our I&C team provided further support with three containers to manage the waste and recycling on-site, free of charge, with SUEZ branded featured.
Lisa Mole, SUEZ Service Delivery Manager said: “It was an honour to support such a well loved and important community event!”
