UK Packaging Pact launches

SUEZ are proud to be a member of the UK Packaging Pact, which officially launched in April. The pact brings together nearly 100 organisations committed to transforming packaging to be better for the future of our planet.

The new cross-sector voluntary agreement will bring together more collaboration across the sector to optimise packaging and to scale re-use across every packaging material placed on the market from glass, paper, card, metal, as well as plastics and biobased materials.

John Scanlon, Executive Vice President UK for SUEZ said: “We all collectively – not just us in the resources industry, but us as consumers – face major changes with the way the things we buy are presented and the way we recycle and re-use them afterwards. As we prepare for the implementation of the deposit return scheme and continue trials with harder to recycle materials, I look forward to more collaboration across the sector to optimise packaging and to scale re-use, building on our extensive work with many leading brands as part of the forerunner programme.”
