Grab a bargain this buy nothing new month - Pop-up re-use Shop on Wallsend High Street

A week-long pop up reuse shop is opening in Wallsend for buy nothing new month – giving shoppers the chance to find quality preloved bargains, support good causes and help the planet.

Running from Monday 03 to Saturday 08 November 2025, the shop will be open daily from 10am to 4pm at The Forum Shopping Centre on Wallsend High Street. Organised by North Tyneside Council and SUEZ recycling and recovery UK, the event will raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support and the British heart Foundation, with all proceeds split between the two charities.

From furniture and homeware to bikes, toys and books, every item has been rescued from the local household waste recycling centre, giving preloved quality items a second life and keeping them from going to waste.

Hannah Fleming, Partnerships and Social Value Coordinator at SUEZ, said: “The pop-up reuse shop is a great way to get involved in Buy Nothing New Month, saving you money, reducing waste and supporting two amazing charities at the same time. Our recent pop-ups have been really popular with the community so far, and we’re really excited to host this week-long shop on the high street.”

Councillor Sandra Graham, Cabinet Member for the Climate Emergency, said: “Events like this are a fantastic way to bring our community together while making a real difference for the environment. By choosing preloved items, we’re not just saving money – we’re reducing waste, giving products a second life, and helping local charities at the same time. It’s a simple but powerful way for everyone to play their part in protecting the environment.”

So whether you’re Christmas shopping early, or just love a good bargain, pop in and see what treasures you can find!
