About the fund

SUEZ is responsible for the collection of waste and recycling from homes and businesses on behalf of Doncaster City Council. The Environment Fund was established to support the community to improve the environment, providing direct support to local projects to carry out environmental improvements.

Since launching, more than £80,000 has been awarded to projects across Doncaster.

The collection of small electrical items at the kerbside contributes to this fund, meaning the more items collected, the bigger the revenue fund set aside for community projects.

2026 Doncaster Environment Fund applications

In 2026, the Doncaster Environment Fund has been relaunched with grants available of up to £1,000 with a broader focus on supporting community-led environmental projects across the borough.

The £5,000 fund will support projects that improve green spaces, support local wildlife, reduce waste and help communities to take greater care of their local environment.

Community groups, not-for-profit organisations and schools are invited to apply for funding to deliver projects that are locally driven and ready to be delivered.
