Doncaster Environment Fund
Local organisations can apply to the SUEZ Doncaster Environment Fund for projects that improve the local natural environment, reduce waste and increase recycling. Community groups, clubs and schools can apply for awards of up to £1,500.
In July 2019, SUEZ awarded over £20,000 to green projects in Doncaster. Projects included the development of a wildflower meadow, a community initiative to maintain clean, tidy and safe streets, and another project to develop a community garden.
In 2020, in lieu of being able to run the SUEZ Doncaster Environment Fund as normal, over £15,000 was donated from the Fund to help NHS staff and vulnerable residents in Doncaster during the COVID-19 pandemic. £1,500 was given to ‘For the Love of Scrubs’ project which went towards materials for scrubs and other PPE at Doncaster Royal Infirmary, and over £13,000 was donated to the Doncaster Community Hub to support those suffering hardship during the initial lockdown period.
In 2021, the SUEZ Doncaster Environment Fund has awarded 10 Doncaster community groups their share of £15,000 for local environmental projects, including Conisbrough Forward, Friends of Sandall Beat Woods, Yorkshire Bike Shack and Northgate Pre-School and Toddlers.

The application window for 2023 is now open. The closing date for applications is Friday 27 January 2023.
